TOKYO — I love Meiji Jingu Kyujyo and hope it can be saved, despite recent approvals allowing it to move forward. Big corporations like Mitsui Fudosan, the giant Japanese real estate developer, and Itochu, one of the largest trading companies in Japan, are behind the redevelopment plan. They are both known for their generous political donations and tight connections to Chinese money. Other participants in this money-grubbing scheme are Kashima Kensetsu and Toko Tatemono. One wonders how much money was donated to the coffers of those serving in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to get the go-ahead for this project.
