TOKYO — In a recent podcast with Jack Gallagher in California I was asked about Shohei Ohtani. What did I think would happen to him? Where would he go? What kind of contract do you think he would get?
This was before Ohtani’s torn UCL which prematurely ended his season as a pitcher — and a torn oblique which prematurely ended his season as a batter.
I predicted San Francisco, a 10-year contract for $500 million with special bonus performance clauses for more money if he performed at the same high level when he returned to pitching.
