CALIFORNIA — It’s amazing how the money being discussed for Shohei Ohtani who will be a free agent in November has grown.
Back in January and February the projected figure being bandied about was around $500 million for a 10-year contract.
No U.S. sports franchise has ever fully guaranteed a player for that much money.
But that was then.
