TOKYO — What’s up with the Meiji Jingu project, you ask?
The story seems to have dropped out of the news as the lawsuits, now totaling three, wend their way slowly through the courts, the latest being a suit by the residents of Shinjuku Ward who have sued the ward mayor over hiding the truth about the redevelopment plan which calls for the destruction of several hundred trees in the Meiji Jingu Outer Garden and the century old Meiji Jingu Stadium, a national treasure.
