CALIFORNIA — Roki Sasaki is on his way to LA, which doesn’t exactly surprise everyone. MLB officials are looking into the possibility of some pre-arranged deal with the Dodgers, but really the promise of future big money contracts, product endorsement fees now, as well as the possibility of joining forces with fellow Japanese stars Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, not to mention the prospect of pitching in Dodger Stadium behind a powerful World Series winning lineup made it inevitable I suppose.

Preordained, but were the Sasaki meetings with other MLB teams interested in signing him just for show?
