TOKYO — Meiji Jingu Kyujo needs a renovation. The seats are uncomfortable, wheelchair access is no good, and sight lines are bad in places. The press box is below ground level and it’s narrow and cramped. It’s also a place that the baseball teams dislike intensely for its small and restrictive dressing rooms.

Jeff Libengood, who was the Rakuten Golden Eagles Strength and Conditioning coach for several years, had this to say in a recent e-mail:
