San Francisco Giants in best position to land superstar Ohtani as a free agent
The offseason media in North America has been filled with stories about Shohei Ohtani and his future. The start of spring training marked the beginning of Ohtani’s final season before becoming possibly one of the most sought after free agents in history. By the time he hits free agency in November, Ohtani will be a 29-year-old, two-way star offering an MLB team a player with a once-in-a lifetime set of talents.
What will he do at the end of the year 2023 when he becomes a free agent?
Will he stay with the Angels or go elsewhere?
The expectation within MLB is that Ohtani will command a 10-year, $500 million contract, the largest contract in baseball history. Angels owner Arte Moreno has backed off from his decision to sell the team, but he has not produced a playoff contender in several years and this season looks to be no different.
