Second volume of book on Nichibei Yakyu Tours another interesting read

TOKYO — Nichibei Yakyu: US Tours of Japan VOLUME II: 1960-2019 is out and upon us covering visits to Japan by MLB clubs and All-Star teams during that time period. It is a sequel to Volume I which appeared last year and covered visits to Japan by American teams starting in 1907 and continuing to 1958. That volume was reviewed previously in this space.

Both books, published by SABR, were edited by Robert K. Fitts with help on Vol. II from Bill Nowlin, James Forr, Len Levin and Carl Reichers. As Fitts notes in his introduction, since 1907 “more than 100 North American and Hawaiian ball clubs have crossed the Pacific to promote the game and further international goodwill.”
