TOKYO — The pursuit of Shohei Ohtani finally ended Dec. 9 and Marty Kuehnert, the guru of Sendai, was proven right, Ohtani having picked the Los Angeles Dodgers. As Marty said earlier in an interview “They’ve got the money, and they recognize he already has a huge fan base in Southern California. Also Sho is used to living in So.Cal. & by staying put he will not have to change his lifestyle much at all. And finally, he will be able to play for the only Japanese manager in MLB, the highly respected Dave Roberts.”
