TOKYO — Warren Cromartie is back in Japan. The former star of the Yomiuri Giants during the 1980’s — a one-time MVP — spent the spring and summer of the past two years here in a rented apartment in Roppongi and plans to spend the next several baseball seasons here in Tokyo.
“I didn’t realize how much I missed Japan until I came back for a visit last year,” said the Miami-based Cromartie. “Everywhere I go people recognize me. They remember me from the old days. It made me want to come back and live here.
“I am 64 now. Tokyo will be my life for the next 10 years.”
