I just managed to finish my taxes for the year and was curious to look at what effect Musk's DOGE machinations were having on the IRS. After taking a look, it makes me wonder why anyone should bother with it at all:

Elon Musk’s DOGE gold diggers are supposedly dedicated to ferreting out “waste, fraud, and abuse” in the U.S. government. Among their targets has been the Internal Revenue Service to which DOGE is terminating 18,000 (20%) of its employees by May 2025 and 48,000 (close to 50%) eventually.
