TOKYO — Apologies for the last column and the “15 million” figure screw up. Friends have advised me to stay away from U.S. politics and I stupidly ignored them.
The column in question started out as a piece in the Yukan Fuji an evening daily where I have had a weekly column every Tuesday since 2007. The idea was to explain the recent U.S. presidential election to Japanese readers, the Substack post being the English version thereof. The vitriol expressed toward the latter was substantially more than toward the former which some might say is an indication that TDS has yet to infect Japan.
